I am looking to play a Feral Druid not a tank though unless things work out where I can manage tanking.
I rolled a druid based on my feelings it would be easier to play then my warlock and also I didn't have my old account information so I couldn't start backup with that account
So with that said. I have been googeling for druid guides and I just can't seem to find what I am looking for. I like recipes meaning I like to follow steps to achieve a goal. its rewarding and fun for me to follow like a leveling guide. What I do to break it up is go out and grind some if I get tired of questing or on the way to a quest point grind some as well.
I did find the guide in this thread and that does look good.
I do see alot of acronyms being used here and not sure what all they are. Can someone please define some of the more common ones related to Druids and WoW in general
Some mechanic questions.
1:While in cat form and eventually bear form how does one heal oneself.
Do you swap out and then heal then swap back in or what?
2: What AoE if any does a druid have to help when you get multiple attacks on you. I have some issues with swapping targets at times in the thick of things and my situational awareness is low right not since just getting back in.
3:Is there like a set pattern of attacks to use in a fight I do know you want to start out with a bleed then something else that builds up combos then hit with a combo attack towards the end.
4:Is it common practice to pull a critter in druid form then shift then fight then shift and pull again or what. I have a hard time with multiple targets attacking me and was trying to figure out a good way to do this if there is no AoE's. I do understand I can root things but that only lasts so long.
5:What gear should I be looking for as I level. I do know that leather is all I can wear. I understand stamina is a trait that I want to look for in the gear what else.
Ok this seems long enough right now. Last question. Is there like a quest line guide for a horde druid to follow.
Sorry for the lengthy post. If there not one definitive reference for this I can compile it from various sources.
Well guess this is too noobish a question for everyone in here so we can just let it get buried. I will try Zam's forum and see if they can be more help.
Thought the official forums would have more input and advice but guess I am too much of a noob for folks to answer
1) In bear form you do get frenzied regeneration for the occasional bear form heal but you can heal yourself up with healing touch quickly, especially if you use your insta-cast on it
2) Im not sure what level druids get swipe now (36ish comes to mind) but that will be your AoE, otherwise stick on one target til it dies then switch. Hitting "V" in game will show you life bars so you can pick out the ones with the lowest health.
3) While leveling most of the time your target will die too quickly for rake to get it's full effect so just mangle up until the target is at about 20% then ferocious bite to finish them off (figure out how many combo pts it takes for your ferocious bite to exceed the damage of mangle).
4) For pulling you will get an ability called feral faerie fire that will allow you to range pull more safely in cat/bear form. Until then you will have to use a spell in caster form then switch if adds are likely to come if you had just charged in there.
5) The key to your gear is not stamina (that is for tanking) it is agi. Gear with hit on it is probably next best as leveling then crit and finally haste I would say. But most of the time it is either a clear upgrade or trash for you. Never wear leather with spirit or int on it. For weapon you MUST use a staff, polearm, or 2h mace with agi (not sure if any such maces exist that fit this). It is different now that our abilities go by weapon damage, so the more DPS it does the better.
I hope this helps you some (my advice may not be perfect but I think I covered the major points). I think the reason you aren't getting too many responses is that the new forums are kind of dead compared to the old ones.
Oskie covered it pretty well and to add from my current leveling of this guy in the new refurb'd zones.
3. I know the bleed doesn't run it's course for the average quest mob, but for muscle memory I mangle>rake>mangle, X, FB - where I am watching mob health, my health (esp if a multi-mob pull) and trying to time the FB. Sometimes the mob dies before the FB and sometimes it doesn't. Often times it isn't a 5 point FB either. It's just questing. In dungeons on elites/bosses then rake will run it's course better.
5. "of the Monkey" ( sta + agi) for generic gear works good. The low-level quest reward gear right now isn't too bad. When you get to Stone Talon there are some nice pieces. The Horde quest chain works you up in a pseudo old-school rank structure where you gain rank through quest completion. As you gain rank it unlocks more pieces of gear from the Quarter Master. It makes it nice to fill in the cracks in your gear while leveling. Another thing I do is if a piece of gear is really hurting is check out the cloth pieces in the AH. There may be a stray bracer which is "of the monkey." Price is usually low since it's cloth but the loss of 20 or 30 armor at a low level is minuscule.
One exception to the int gear comment. In one of the Stone Talon quests the rewards were a selection of blue gear. My BoA overlapped on whichever piece I would normally have selected (chest or shoulders, don't remember). I chose the blue pants that had sta, int and crit. I cringed on the selection, but they worked out nicely. I lost some agi (but gained crit) and they were better than my old quest green pants anyway. This was pretty much an exception, but just making the point while leveling you shouldn't worry about whether it's BiS gear because you level out of it so fast.

Yep, base feral gear off of AGI/STA and maybe a bit of crit. Value crit a bit more then STA if you're pure kitty, but from 1-70, it really doesn't matter. We'll (figuratively speaking) only point and laugh if you're wearing STR/INT/SPI gear in every slot. As long as the pieces are leather and have AGI on them and aren't 20 levels out of date, you'll have no issues.
I probably got 1/2 of my armor from the random dungeon reward bags so far. The rest came from the end of long quest chains in the old world (which are nicely itemized for feral druids) or from the occasional dungeon drop (BRD and Strath were very good to me).
The only time I went shopping at the AH was if a green piece of armor was 15+ levels out-of-date. Then I'd look to see if there was any green leather AGI/STA armor that wasn't horribly overpriced. Otherwise you just continue on, slap an enchant on it, and go looking for quests that reward that slot (or pray for a dungeon drop or a dungeon goodie bag item).
