Does anyone know of any mods that let you know what gear and gems are best for you? I used to use RAWR but it is not up to date yet for cata.
Please do not use Rawr for selecting tanking gear. It's pretty terrible at it.
Fasc has a spreadsheet that you can download and add additional items to so that you can compare mititgation values with different gear selections. He's in the process of releasing an updated version for it. I don't have a link on me right now, but you can look for "Fasc's Tanking Spreadsheet" or something like that in the Tanking forums.
